Continuing education for electrical inspectors is provided on a regular basis 10 times a year. Codes change constantly and inspectors must keep their certificates active and up to date. The classes are 8 hours for electrical although 6 hours are required per year. Two of those hours will carry over.
Education is very important. Codes are made up of thousands of specific rules, so an electrical inspector requires continuing education. Their job is very intense and extremely important. Just imagine a world of no codes where electricity is involved. Old buildings with old wiring and today’s technology and energy needs. That’s a scary situation.
Inspectors keep our families safe, our businesses safe, and help us keep up with the changing needs of today.
